I have him alone in his Quarentine tank, he has running water, and a heat light that is not too bright for him

He has a dish with both large and smaller worms, and I am going to get some superworms and some Crix for him too (Gex need some Crix anyway)

I just admire this vet more and more

He actaully came into the office early yesterday and sat and watched Tripod Move around in his tank. He intentionally moved the brances, so he would move to a better perch, and put food in view to see how Tripod moved. then when his ascociate came in they discussed exactly where to do the amputation. They decided on a complete disarticulation. This was done in the hopes that he will simple pivot his hips and "tripod" himself (so he is now a tripod in more than name only)

He was given one dose of Baytril, and seemed to have some Lateraltreacheal emphesema (is what the vet called it) It was a bubble of air in his throat that had to be tapped with a needle and syringe. The vet has seen this a couple times before, but not much

it seems to happen from irritation in the treachea from being Intubated. Doc sent me home with a Steryle Syringe in case it happened again

Marcia (and Joe) - For future reference, these guys Hypersalivate when unconcious, and even the meds given to dry them up only seemed to thicken them up. So good attention must be taken during any heavy Surgical Procedure. Doc told me to let you all know that. They ended up having to put a small catheter down with the tube to keep the secretions out.

He has 4-5 Stiches (I counted 4 stiches but 5 puckers) and they are all self disolving. No topical antibiotic unless it starts to look bad, and it can take up to 3 months to heal so not to worry if it seem to take forever

His weight was up 4 grams from when I got him from you Joe (I am pretty sure that was BEFORE the surgery tho) and he rode on my Cellary Green Sweater the whole way home and the backs of his legs actually matched my sweater, no yellow on his spines, just a warm brown to his back and this nice green on his legs

Marcia - Could you send me some pix of your encosures. the reptariums with the Plastic. I am thinking of that now because getting something else is getting to be not only expensive, but a chore and a half

Do you have Coir/Dirt/soil Substrate? or just potted plants?

you can send pix to my work address

Thanks in advance
-----
Elizabeth (ecb)
