"If the boxes feel slightly "slimy" to the touch you might try a mild degreaser. Perhaps dishwasher detergent. Rinse very well."



I had to use dish detergent as well.

Then i heated the new rack to slightly higher temps than i would use for the actual housing conditions(for a couple of days).Then cleaned them again.

No smell after that,or any problems either.
