sphagnum moss question

I just bought a bag of Scotts sphagnum moss from Home Depot, and I want to know if it's safe for my adult CRB. I'd been using ZooMed's moss, which comes in large fibrous strands and clumps. When I opened the bag of Scotts I was surprised that it looked like dirt (i.e., very fine particles). Just thought I'd check and see if this stuff is okay to use in a damp hide box. My guy is starting his opaque phase and needs to be extra moist right now until he sheds. Thanks for the help.
