Hi there, well I have tried about every combo of lighting possible to get proper UVB to my Ambilobe panther cham. Depending on how big of cage you have factors allot. I am lighting an all screen 36" W 18" Deep 48" tall enclosure. So lamps like the reptisun 10.0 or the florescent style like repti sun 5.0 will not penetrate far enough and even if they did the UVB amount is small at best. So I switched over to MVBs started with t-rexs 100 watt and had amazing results for like 2 weeks I mean amazing energy eating drinking I have never seen a cham in captivity act this healthy then the bulb burnt out. Switched to Big Apple herps Capture the Sun and the bulbs were way way too hot and they did not spread the light out as well. So I switched to the Powersun MVBs by zoo med. They are awesome (like the T-Rex) for about 3 weeks then they start to turn yellow and I assume the UVB decreases so I searched and searched and found these guys www.reptileuv.com I learned allot from Bob @ reptileuv.com. He had explanations for all the issues I have been dealing with. The 2nd bulb you mention is one they manufacture but are taking off the market due to instability in UVB (like the power suns and t-rex lamps) but what he did offer is a custom built 1 year guarantee on UVB externally ballasted lamp. I gave him my cage setup he got with his lighting techs and they are making a bulb specifically for my chams needs!!!! Now I have not received it yet (still using powersuns on my 5th and 6th ones in 6 months freaking expensive!!!) but I am sure the bulb I get from reptile UV will be the end of my hunt for lighting.
