My boss and I have 7 eggs (yes I know that is small, it is her female's second clutch, and it looked like only 7 were good). I am expecting them to hatch end of September, beginning of October, or somewhere around that time. They are incubating at 83.7 degrees, and humidity ranges between I think 70 and 80%. All the eggs left (the 7) are leathery and white, and when candled I can now see the embryos. Anyway, when and if they do hatch, I know I have to leave them in the incubator until the yolks are absorbed. Will this be OK? I have a Hovabator, and I am just wondering if right out of the egg they will be jumpy, I am worried about them possibly touching the heating source in the incubator. Do I shut off the incubator, because I know that there will be time between the first hatching and the last, so I don't want to have trouble with the last of the eggs hatching. Also, how many babies usually to say a 20 gallon breeder? I do know I will have to separate the more aggressive babies, and we do have extra tanks and lights and such. Any info on babies right out of the egg would be appreciated. I know these aren't my eggs, but I have been the one taking care of them. My boss already has homes lined up for all 7. I told her not to count her dragon eggs before they hatch, but I guess having a good home set up prior to them hatching is pretty good. Thanks guys.
