RE: my snake has lots of missing scales

Well, I can't say for sure what will happen; but this is what I believe will occur. It is possible, if the wounds were deep enough, that the snake may always have a scar. It has been my experience that missing scales grow back, but I do know there is a point where the scale has been damaged beyond growing back, much like human skin.

My cat got a hold of one of my escapees one day and the snake just got some claw marks in her. After a shed, or two, the holes (missing scales) were repaired. I don't believe that there is anything you need to do unless the snake is still bleeding or you see any other signs of distress. Hope this helps.
