Yeah, that one from europe is a freak! I personally wouldn't sweat it about breeding sibling to sibling for a generation or so. If you're looking to prove or accentuate a given trait then it's really the best way to go. Besides, madagascar is a small place and I'm sure it's happened a time or two in the wild already. It's the classic morphs vs. purity debate. Do we trade healthier animals for better looking animals? I personally haven't seen much evidence that inbreeding healthy reptiles for a generation or so causes them to regularly become genetically unhealthy. Sure, there was the one eyed albino boa, but this was probably a case of someone taking it far beyond the F2/F3 range. If the animals have healthy internal organs to start with, then their offspring should also have healthy internal organs, and so on, and so on. The hope is that the desired color/pattern mutation is the ONLY mutation that exists, and will therefore be the ONLY mutation that is passed on genetically.
