Females from my feeder line are always capable of breeding successfully before my males. The males start trying at a younger age than the females but can't seem to get it done. Maybe it's just my lines or the way I do something... I don't know.
My feeder line females are at least 175 grams at day 42 or they're culled. With a male of the same weight and age, I get no successful breeding. Placed with an older and larger male, I get successful breeding on the first heat cycle after day 42.
My "wannabe someday" show line is a little different because of different culling standards, but seem to follow the same general patterns.
