Some of my little cresteds would take mini mealworms, only put 1 or two at a time and took out what they didnt eat the very next day. I also believe you should place the crested in a plastic shoe box container for atleast the first few months of life, this way you can easily monitor food intake and feces. When I bred ciliatus, I would for the first few months (or until the crested showed consistent signs of eating )would smear the baby food on the snout of hatchlings and they will always lick it off. A good mixture that has worked for both my cresteds and leachianus is gerber baby food 50% lamb mixed with 50% hawaiin delight along with rep-cal calcium added every other feeding. The lamb baby food has a good source of protein. Hope this helps. | ||
