Depends on what you have in it. If the cage is pretty sparce of deco (hides, plants, branches, etc) then yes it can be too big. But you can easily fill any sized cage with lots of hides, plant cover, branches, etc and make it a beautiful setup that makes the snake feel safer and be a virtual playground!
