Well I really wouldn't worry to much about the shed as it should come off during the next shed cycle. As long as the snake didn't retain the eye caps and tip of the tail it should be ok.Sounds to me like he/she was really dry. You could be stressing the snake out by handling him/her so much. Most hatchlings are super stressed already and should only be handled maybe 5 mins tops once every day or two until they start calming down.



Anyway you could try 'braining' a pinkie. This usually will entice a young snake to eat. You need to make a cut or drill a hole in the top of the pinkies head and expose the brain,you could even squeeze a little brain matter out the top of it's head also. Place the pinkie and the snake in a small deli dish and leave over night. Hope that helps.
