I did almost as well. This is my first try at breeding balls. High contrast male mated to 5 pos. het females. Only one female produced eggs (I don't think I got them quite cool enough).



6 eggs laid--all fertile.



4 albinos and 2 hets hatched. One albino is still in the egg, but should be out tomorrow. All 4 albinos are rather high contrast. (Orange right now) I can't wait for them to shed, I'll post pics of them when they do. (that pos. het. female was the best $250 I have ever spent!) Thanks Kelli H.



I'd say possible hets are not a waste of time. When you can purchase about 3-4 for the price of one 100% het., you increase you odds of producing albinos by about 50-100% per dollar spent. While buying a 100% het is a sure thing, buying 4 pos. hets. should give you 2 hets. on average, but you could end up with 4 hets., or 4 normals. If you aren't into gambling, or can't afford to take care of/purchase multiple animals, a 100% might be better for you.--Personally, I'd rather buy more animals and produce more babies, plus it sure was exciting to see all those albinos pop out when I could have gotten a bunch of hets. instead!
