RE: hides for hatchlings?

Try a "real" garden center or greenhouse for clay pot bottoms (not a lowes or home depot type, but a place that only sells garden/yard/house plants, etc). They will probably carry some small ones (my local one does). Then do the usual drill - a hammer to the lip to knock out a chunk so the snake can get under it.
