I have 84 rubbermaid bins and not one has every melted or created any fumes. The melting point of the tubs is alot higher than 90-92 degrees.

I use UTH and will soon be adding flexwatt. Just be sure to atleast use a dimmer, if not a cheap thermostat on ALL of your cages.

I think the rubbermaid bins would be a better bet than a wooden enclosure.
