it's a threetoed box turtle. Cleaned up and maybe with some shine put on it's shell. It's markings are bright (which can be from shining the shell, photography, or post photograph tricks, or natural) but not abnormal for the subspecies. Threetoeds have probably the largest variation in markings of any of the north american boxies (gulf's have similar variations).
