Stud fees... do people do this?

I got to thinking about it this weekend. Do any breeders "rent" their snakes out for the genes or is this something that is frowned upon. I know some people do breeding loans but what about stud services. Seems like it could be a good way for hobbyists to get morphs or hets a little cheaper and for breeders to make some extra cash without an excessive amount of work. Any thoughts on this, pros or cons? Thanks
