Hello, I currently have a pair of veileds in a 3x4x5 (DxWxH) separated cage. They are full grown and use hardly any of it. In an effort to save space in my bedroom I thought of a way to reconfigure it. I thought that maybe I could make a low table with short walls (8" or so) on it that the Chams can't climb, and the crickets can't jump over. Then, on top of this table, place their many potted plants and vines and all. Then suspend their fluorescent and incandecent lights from the ceiling. This way, even if they (or the crickets) do somehow end up on the floor of the cage (the top of the table,) they can't climb over the wall. No ugly cage walls, no screens to obstruct the view of the chams, no more escaped crickets. I've considered their housing requirements... My room does get up to about 75 or 78 during the day, and my room is a VERY low traffic area. No other pets can get into the room. Has anybody tried this type of set up with no cage walls? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!
