Black spots/holes

I posted this in Herp health and breeding but thought I may get more info here....



My veiled has overnight developed perfectly round black indents 3 of them on its right side near its spine.... they look almost like a cigarette burn in fabric and are the size of the flat end of a pen..... otherwise he seems to be acting normal.... eating and being his usual mellow self.... I'm very concerned about him at the moment and am not sure if this is some kind of fungal infection.... if anyone knows what this is please let me know......
