I've read about all the barks/wood chips like as substrates and as my ball's first substrate I used fir. When I went to the pet store the girl at the counter recommended I use Eco-Earth which is what she uses for her snakes, 2 of which are balls. Does anyone else use this/have comments about it. She said the only bad thing she's heard was that they migh eat some of it with their food. Also how often do you replace it, she said every two weeks?
