Further down the page in a post I said I let Kong a male, and Kachina a female roam free.

I also said that I will allow about 4 others out at a time to run for awhile then I return THEM, to their tanks.



Vonnie asked me, if the males have any problems with each other.

And if males from other species that I allow to run around with them for short periods bother each other.



What I have found that is extremely interesting, is when I put down another male collared or 2 at the same time, and a couple girls, KONG being a huge male, will not even take notice.



BUT.... as soon as another collared of EITHER sex touches the floor, Kachina (FEMALE) who ususally will be found atop a pile of slate on the floor basking, will LEAP of her spot and CHARGE across the floor, until shes face to face with who ever I just let out.



Her back is up in a fight stance, although she does not fight, she stands in front of them. And THEY ALL, males also, will get low to the floor, as if in a submissive position, and slowly move around and past her.

Not until she does this, and they tongue each other in short, cautious , moves, can they then be welcomed to the basking site.



I have seen this pattern over and over from her each day. As KONG just sits contently , watching and excepting ANYBODY!



ALSO while out I have never had a squirmish with any species I let out at the same times, such as chuckwallas, desert iguana, black agamas.



Bearded dragon , and uromastyx, larger ones, come out later in day or early evening after Kong and Kachina go under their rock.
