Misting is pretty much necessary for your chameleon's health. It's like asking "is it that important for humans to eat?" yes it is. Misting is how chams obtain most of their water. A lot of chams don't even use a dripper that often. Mine completely ignores the drip.
They should be misted at least 3-4 times a day for at least 1 minute in duration or until your cham stops drinking. I think I use about 20-30 oz (about 10 oz per mist session 3 times a day). a day of water, which seems like a lot, but my veiled loves being sprayed and drinks like a fish.
And, yes, it's still important for babies to get as much water. Obviously not the same AMOUNT of water as an adult, but still mist regularly 3-4 times a day.
