Jimmy,
An update........I tried to feed again last night and this morning found the same as last time, namely that the 2 neonates who had been eating, ate with no problem, but again, the ornery Amel did not. So I decided to try irritating him with the food as described in the Love's book. I picked up the F/T pinkie with a pair of long (12" tongs and began to prod him with the head of the pinkie on his flank at every turn. At first he attempted to avoid the offending trespasser, but I just kept on poking and prodding him with the pinkie. After about a minute or so of this, he became frustrated and started to strike out at it. Bingo--on the fourth strike he nailed it on the head and I just let go--sure enough he continued to engulf the pinkie and finally swallowed it. Awesome! I'm psyched now! I just really wanted to thank you for all of your advice and willingness to help me.
I will post some pics of these 3 guys soon because I'm beginning to think that the one I had originally thought was an Anery, may in fact, actually be a Miami Phase normal. I'd like to get some opinions on that. Will post the genetic background of the parents as well when I post the pics. Looking forward to your take on it.
Thanks again, Jimmy.....
David
