It's great to hear from you. I was able to make it out there for a day after we spoke, and even though I was unsuccessful in finding any crotaphytids, I did find other interesting wildlife. It's great to go out there, but it's hard to do so with all the animals we have here at DWA. I'd really like to go west into Arizona and Nevada, or even north into Oklahoma; but that'll have to wait until next year. The weather at the time was not very favorable, which could account for the absence of collareds, and the weather now is beginning to change rapidly.
