We had our first Kid's Club meeting of the season (we don't do it during the summer) and the topic was Snakes. I took my two corns, Mysty and Suezo, and they were a big hit. Here are some photos...

They also got to play with my BP, Slytherin

and my Sand Boa, Fang

I brought a baby Eastern Milk and some baby Smooth Green snakes too but they were just for looking at. I was glad I did not let them handle the Eastern milk, I took her out to show her to them and she latched onto my finger pretty good. I still have a mark. Unfortunately, one of the children (pictured above with my BP) got bit by someone else's Corn snake. I was amazed at how many puncture wounds the poor kid ended up with. Wow. He was crying but then calmed down enough to handle my snakes again. The snake that bit him has been doing demos for many years and the kid was handling him very gently. Just goes to show you never do know what they are going to do. I was glad the experience did not make him afraid of snakes permanently. It was a bad bite (on the fleshy area between his thumb and first finger) and could have easily left him with a fear of snakes, but he got right "back in the saddle" which was great.

On a non snake topic, meet the newest member of my animal family. This little guy is just 4 days old, I got him yesterday after Kid's Club. He is a Mountain Horned Dragon. Isn't he adorable?

He's just a little guy...

This is a picture of his mom. My friends adopted her a few months ago not realizing she was gravid. She laid 12 eggs shortly after they got her. They actually thought it was a boy until "he" laid the eggs LOL... They figured the eggs were not fertile since the guy they adopted her from did not have any males. They put the eggs into a container just in case, and sure enough all 12 eggs hatched!

Mom...

Hope you liked the pics!!!
