I thought I had seen an article but looked through a bunch of issues and could not find it. Do you know what month the article was in? Yes, they are fairly small, they get about a foot long. They take lower temps than most lizards. Only mid to upper 70s or lower 80s at the highest. Supposedly they tolerate handling very well. The baby sure had no problem with it. Did not try to jump or run away, just sat on my finger looking around.

As for the bite, the problem was that the snake not only bit, but then chewed a bit. It was a full grown Corn, and quite a large one at that.

In fact, I think it might be the 'freakishly large' corn snake that Dave posted about a few months ago and nobody really believed him that a Corn would get that big. The former owner was feeding it 6 mice a week and I guess it was insanely big according to the current owner. I'm trying to get photos but the current owner doesn't know if he has any from back then. They reduced it's diet and it's lost weight to the point that it is now a normal weight for it's length. Maybe that's why he's grumpy!
