She has not told me her name yet. But it should be something like "Houdini" or "flash". The babies live in a Neodesha cage with a sliding glass door; she has escaped about every time one of us has opened it. So far she has been recaptured without incident. I am actually considering placing the cage in a bathroom, less places for her to run to when the door is opened. (Have you checked out these cages? I seriously think they were made from the vegetable drawer of a refrigerator.)

Hermes' momma gave me bad scare today. We left to run errands while the lizards were in their outdoor cages. It was almost 4 when we got back, and I didn't see anybody at first glance, but figured they had already gone under their rock. I lifted the rock to bring them indoors and Saige was missing. A small hole in their Apogee nylon screen cage was found. I can't belive she chewed or clawed through but can offer no other explanation. Sam wonders is it was a bird, but I think if a bird bad enough to do that came around they would all be under the rock and the bird would lose interest in them. I already had tears in my eyes as I loked around the yard, knowing in my heart she was gone. And what did I see, but Saige sunning herself on the woodpile. She didn't even try to run when I walked over and picked her up. I'm sure thankful to still have her. I guess they won't be going outside for a while! Now I will be totally paranoid about that cage even after I repair it.
