I would wait. Imean, it wouldn't kill him to switch substrates while he is shedding but he is already going through a really stressfull time right now, why add more to it?
As far as how long it will take it depends on how far along they are. The process can take up to about a week. The first few days just getting lighter and lighter untill the skin finally either cracks or is rubbed off and eaten. He probably wont eat at this time as he is too busy.
One more thing, please make sur to feed him more than just meal and wax worms, its not a complete diet! ----- 1.0 green iguana
