Im pretty sure the spur is there from birth, just maybe hard to see. When they are about 2-3 months or older you can definitely tell. If there is a bump on the back of his back feet then its a boy, if its not there then a girl!



A little later on you can also tell when the casque starts to develop. The males are much longer and bigger, and they will show more coloration on their bodies such as blues, yellows and even oranges etc.
