29 gallons is fine for a corn, but longer is better than taller. Corns, though semi-arboreal, are much more at home on the ground. Young corns climb to try to escape, but older corns prefer enclosures wherein they can stretch a bit.
My corns are in racks, and they only have about 7 inches of head room. But, because they move freely about, they are thriving in every way!
