Hello, I just recently got 2 baby leo's from a local breeder the female was always smaller than the male, but it looks like she's not growing at all!
I've been feeding them regular sized feeder crickets and I watch them carefully as they hunt at night (actually i've lost a lot of sleep over it) From what I've watched, the male doesn't stop her from feeding (he's not agressive towards her or anything...) actually he's pretty protective of her (he nipped at me once when i went to pick her up, and they're always together) From what I've seen, she gets the crickets in her mouth, but they always get away and she just gives up... I don't think they're too big for her, in fact I threw in some really undersized ones thinking they were just too big for her mouth, but even those seem to get away, and unlike Peter, she just kind of gives up and walks away...
When she's in her hunt mode at night (stalking about, doing her little tail twitchy and everytihng) she seems like she's trying hard to get the little buggers, but they always get away from her, and by the time i've fallen asleep, she seems completely frustrated and has usually gone under her rock.
What should I do? I've considered just giving her mealworms, but i hear they don't have as much nutritional value as the dusted gut-loaded crickets i've been giving them.
