Yep, we have had our escape a few times and he will travel down against the wall and into the nearest dark corner. We have found him in the back of the closet, in a drawer, and under the couch. I do not have the locking lids and we were piling books on top of the cage lid to weight it down and he still escaped, the books still on top! What I have done now is buy strips of velcro and line the rim of the cage and then the rim of the lid. It is rather difficult to get off, but we don't take the lids off that often and so far no one has escaped. Good luck finding your snake!
