substrate?

i have been using aspen for quite a while as a substrate and have had no problems. my question was, what about mixing in a little sphagnum moss with the aspen? this would lend the subtrate to be beter for burrowing i would think. does anybody have experince with this? have any of you experienced problems with sphagnum as a substrate?
