The three lines of albino is really just 1 mutation with minor changes in each line. Bell line alibnos are known for their brown spotting, Las vegas for their lightness, and trempers for their purple/violet colors.
Okay, so each gene has 2 alleles. (remember that, it will help a lot)
phenotype-the physical appearance
genotype-the actual genetic make up
Recessive is when both alleles must be the same to show the desired trait. THe homozygous ("aa" form shows the trait while the heterozygous ("Aa" does not. "A"=wild type, "a"= trait.
Dominant is when only one allele must be present to show the desired trait. The homozygous "aa" is the same as the heterozygous "Aa" in phenotype.
Co dominant (when reffered to in the Reptile world it is really INCOMPLETE DOMINANCE) is when 2 traits are combined and the result fully shows both traits. Ie. "AA"= red, "aa"=white, "Aa"= red with white dots/white with red dots.
Incomplete domiance ("co-dom" in the reptile community) is when two traits are combined to form and intermediary phase. ie. "AA"=red, "aa"=white, "Aa"=pink.
WIth reptile traits-
Recessive-Albino, homozygous for albinism ("aa" heterozygous ("Aa" animals are normal in appearance.
Dominance-Spider ball pythons, homozygous and heterozygous animals show trait.
Co-dominance-No reptile animal (that i know of) has a co-dominant trait.
Incomplete dominance-Pastel ball pythons, homozygous form is the super pastel, heterozygous is the pastel. ----- 0.1 "Tremper" looking Albino Leopard gecko (Lex)
0.0.1 tiger crested gecko (peachs)
0.1 Red blood python (Rhianon)
0.0.1 ball pythons (FELIX!!!!!)
2.1 Feral cats that we adopted (Fuzzy, Bear, and Tony)
