I guess you would have a few things to worry about if you put it in the tank.

Cords or pad getting ripped, or frayed by the tiles, gecko, or bugs. And if he spills a water dish or goes to the bathroom a lot over it and it leaks down to it. Then it could short or catch fire.



I never had a problem with heat pads, just if it caught fire or shorted and the gecko was above it he'd get hurt or killed. If he's underneath he got a firewall at least. Try putting it under the tank for a day or two and getting readings on temp at different times. Good thing you're setting it up ahead of time, give you a chance to fix problems before they start.



>>Hey I just linned my 15 gallon with tile (to prepare for the new gecko and I was wondering if you still stick the heat pads on the bottom on the tank (vs sticking it on the inside bottom of the tank inwhich the wire are exposed but it could create more heat) The tiles are pretty thick (1/4 of an inch) and the bottom of the tank is thick too, it's not glass, more like a stone b/c it's black and hard). what do you guys think? I could put my heat pads on the bottom of the tile but that would still mean the wires would be in the tank

It rubs the lotion on it's skin.

Bleach, good to clean tanks. Ammonia, good to clean tanks. Bleach mixed with Ammonia, good to make ammonium chloride gas to kill you while your cleaning tanks.
