they actaully don't grow all that fast, but regardless, their leaves will snap with minimal pressure. Also b/c they are succulents they can rot if they stay too wet for too long. It would look cool but don't think it is too practical.
As for water build up my suggestion would be not to fill the dripper all the way up. I never do that for Luna. Fill it up enough for it to drip to the capacity of your catch basin. The cham doesn't need it dripping all day. Oh, and for any siphoning I use a turkey baster - works great and cost a dollar or two.
How old is the one you are getting? Here are some things that I do for temp and humidity - I live in NH (cold dry). I have Luna's cage set into a freestanding closet (with doors off so only three sided and no top). I place a towel on the back screen to catch stray spray, etc. I bought a cheap shower curtain liner, cut it into 3 pieces and on either side I have them attached. At night I put another across the door to maintain humidity. It works out quite well. You can use a humidifier on or in the cage (Sunbeam makes a great small one) and your basking and UVB light will keep temps up. Mercury Vapor Bulbs give off heat as well as UVB. I'll take some pix to show what I am talking about in setup. Also keeping dense foliage will help maintain humidity. I have a veiled so I don't know the humidity requirements of panthers (although almost 2 years on this forum you would think I should! LOL!). Don't get me wrong, maintaining humidity is not easy in our cold dry winters but these suggestions should help some.
As for Scales just email them to see if they ship to CN.
