Posted by: terryp at Sat Oct 16 12:38:45 2004 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by terryp ] I've been using the same original gecko substrate for 4 months to scent pinkies. It still seems to be doing its thing. I took the substrate and put it in a deep deli cup with a lid and some holes at the top so the pinkie can breathe. I put the pinkies in that I want to scent. After each feeding, I put the lid on the deli cup and put it away until the next time I want to use it. I've actually dropped the amount of time the pinkie is in the cup since your post. I used to leave them in over night, but now they are just in there for a short time. I am hoping that as the gecko scent dissapates from the substrate it will give my lyre snakes a pinkie with less scent on it. This might actually help me to sort of wean the snakes off scented. I only have one stubborn lyre still holding out for scented. He should be getting a pinkie with less gecko scent on it as time goes on. | ||
