You also can't rely on spur size. I thought I had a female due to extremely small spurs, but the vet found sperm in his fecal. As I understand it, probing is an art, not a science. Even the experts make mistakes and get it wrong sometimes. You can also injure the snake if done wrong and ruin any breeding potential. You should have someone with experience teach you how to properly use a probe set. Your snake will thank you for it. [ Hide Replies ]
