I wouldn't call it perfect as I am always changing things. But it may give you some ideas. I use leaf litter, dirt, and cypress mulch mix. I see them when they bask and when I give them food. Otherwise I have to dig them up.



Mine are not biters, they use their claws and wiggle. Mine do not hiss or tail whip either. However if I do the wrong thing get them on a bad day I get bit. It's a part of keeping them.



You may take them outside but it is not the best idea. If they get away from you they will be gone. Or atleast hard to catch. I prefer taking my bigger slower monitors outside over my small fast climbers. Such as my water monitors. Also it is true you may see a change in attitude.
