HERP POWER THERMOSTAT

i had a big apple herp power thermostat on my incubator this year and it held a constant 79.5-80.0 for about 5 weeks then for no apparent reason it started drifting up to 83.0 and down to 77.0 degrees.i sent it back and big apple cannot find any problem of drifting.has anyone experienced a similar problem with this unit?
