It is all related to ensuring medical care is given in a quality and controled manner. I'm sure you are very familiar with Flagyl and it's uses in reptiles but in general, the tendency to use improperly would be the norm if access was for everyone. There is a move towards increasing the status of animals from things to beings of identity. This increases the responsibility and liability in the role of veterinarian. A VCR (vet/client relationship) is necessary for a veterinarian to write a prescription. [ Hide Replies ]
