I have a 7 month old Sav which is 64.1 grams and 30 cm long. Since bringing Raven home he/she has lived in a 30 gallon (approx) aquarium on repti-bark and has done quite well.



But, he/she seems to enjoy digging in the corners alot but the "bark" doesn't hold any shape at all.



So, I'd say dirt is certainly in order, though. Yes, the dirt gets heavy, but with a sturdy enclosure it shouldn't matter. You can buy dirt for around $10/yard and would be more than enough for a 3x6 enclosure at about 1 foot deep, I'd think.
