My brother has worked with savannahs for a few years and I hope this helps. He once had a picture fall and knock his savannah cage over releasing his little savannah into the house. It entered the walls through a pocket door and we didn't recover him for four months later. We put him back in the cage and feed him well. That savannah ended up growing twice as fast that next year compared to the growth rate of other savannahs he had recorded. Although it isn't exactly a scientific study, it suggests a little fasting and allowing them to burn up some of that fat is useful to them. It is okay to feed them every second or third day when they are young. He always fed a mix of crickets, anoles, and small mice. | ||
