Hi Matt,
There were 2 wildlife shows in the San Jose area that weekend: one in Alum Park (the one we went to) and another one in Los Altos College (I think probably you went to that one). And of course the tortus were in that one... Murphy's law -hehe...
The deciding factor was the ticket $ as I had my children and their friends and $25 per person blew the budget. The Alum Park show was free, just a voluntary donation. There talking with one of the BAARS volunteers I learned that the turtles/tortoises were in the other show Still we saw other beautiful reptiles and a great collection of raptorial birds; a great falconry show and presentation. There were no animals for sale but just an exhibit for educational purposes.
If I had known there were tortoises in the other show I would have planned differently and tell everybody to bring their own $. Sounds like it was worth it!
