RE: catawba or catalpa worms?

Hi, I had always heard that box turtles like catalpa worms, too, but experience with several three-toeds and a large catalpa tree have shown otherwise. The number one preferred live food on the "hoof" so to speak, for my turtles has always been garden slugs, with nightcrawlers a close second. I think they find the catalpa worms too tough to bite easily. Slugs are like parfait for them.
