Plenty of people are breeding them in Europe, but they are VERY expensive to purchase, on the order of $250 US and UP.



They are considered very exotic there.

Also, my friend des fly occasionally to Scotland so maybe there's a way for her to bring a turtle back with her from Britain. I'm going to check on the importation of reptiles laws in Holland for her. She says in Holland only tropical type indoor turtles are available.
