Some Ficus varieties are viny so it might work, but don't know about the Ficus species we tend to use in cages. If you have a cham species that doesn't tend to nibble on plants the rubber plant would not be toxic. But, rubber plants are not great to use for other reasons...the leaves may not hold water well for drinking, they won't hold the cham's weight if it climbs on them, and the plant's growth habit doesn't provide many good climbing branches for cage structure.
