You can try a washtub...a clean garbage can...a watering trough.
place your log in it ( there's a joke in there someplace )
and fill it with one part bleach to five parts water. And soak your log. ( that joke thing again..hmm )
One thing though. A normal everyday log, especially a moist unseasoned one will rot, grow mushrooms, attract bugs.
You need to dry it out somehow. If you place it in a high humidity situation, it will rot.
it will still do so if dried out, but at a much slower rate.
You may have to dry it first, and then coat it with polyurethane, or an epoxy type finish to seal against moisture.
