First of all, let me say thank you to all of you that answered my post. Your instant support and warm concern was/is refreshing and appreciated. Just to see many of your names prior to opening and reading your posts was/is a comfort. It's kinda weird, but even though you sit behind this inanimate monitor and type away on this seemingly impersonal keyboard,. you really seem to get to know others that you have never met before in person. And when you guys are gone, it's like a friend is on vacation or has moved away.
Rob,.. I hope you find more time soon when things at your new center smooth out. I always enjoy reading your posts, and nothing is more of an self esteem boost than when you say something like, "I agree with Brian on this one." lol
Amanda,.. how very flattering. Thank you. Yes, of course you are welcome to email me any time. I enjoy snake talk just as much in email as I do here,.. if not more due to the more personable atmosphere.
Tom, thanks a bunch for your support as well. I know that Bob's forums are very busy and often interesting, but I have some minor conflicts with a few of the members and so I choose to come here. It's copacetic.
The same thanks goes to you too Marcia. You are certainly one of those people that always post something of relevance and dripping with insight. It isn't often that one can make me say, "Wow,.. I never thought of that before,.. how true!" But you have done it several times.
John,. as usual you crack me up. Yeah,. you are probably dead right,. it's forum burnout. But really,. if all you guys were here daily,. I seriously doubt I'd be experiencing the burn. It used to be kicking in here at all times. It was great. I'd like to get that back again.
And Rotten (Sorry man, I forgot your name) That makes me feel good you referring to me as a pro and all that. But I really must humbly say that there is really no such thing as a reptile pro. Maybe more experience or less experience or knowledgeable,.. but never 100% professional. Not a day goes by that I don't learn something new, or a week goes by that I don't do something stupid and almost get my face taken off. lol. It's like Bonnie (VA Rescue) said in the thread about burm aggressiveness,... we get complacent when we foolishly consider ourselves to be pros and then we make mistakes. I suppose to some degree the danger will always be a part of the business/hobby of keeping giant snakes,.. but when we put ourselves in danger due to an inflated ego that's when we have to re-evaluate our self image. My snakes continually remind me that I am not all that great when I slip up, though.
And to the rest of you that responded to my sniveling, pathetic, self pitty-filled post,... thanks for your support. If you guys just stick around then this place will get shakin again and I won't have to go away feeling all neglected.
Thanks guys.
>>>>It seems to me that there has been a "turnover" of sorts here the last few weeks and nothing much of any real relevance is posted very often any more. It also seems that a lot of the old timers just don't come here very much any more. Perhaps there is a direct correlation between the two changes. As a result the forum, to me anyways, is very lacking and with more frequency I regret taking the few minutes to pull up the pages and leave here feeling disappointed and even a little sad. These forums used to be so stimulating for me. Now it seems repetative and almost mundane. >>>> >>>>I do not intend to offend any of the young herpers that post here and are just learning about their first burmese pythons. I urge you all to keep posting and finding out all you can. My intended message here is really more about what I miss,.. not so much about what remains here. >>>>----- >> >>>>It isn't "Ideas" that fail or succeed,... it is the "Sytstems" which are instilled to launch and sustain the idea that either fail or succeed.> >> >>You will be missed Brian. You are right i use to get excited about looking at the forums on KS. Now seems like Bob has it going on. His forums usually stays busy. >>----- >>Thomas Jones >>aligatorhunter@earthlink.net >> >>While you are thinking about robbing the bank, the person beside you is thinking about how to collect the reward!! ----- It isn't "Ideas" that fail or succeed,... it is the "Sytstems" which are instilled to launch and sustain the idea that either fail or succeed.>
