Your dad will have no trouble building a leopard gecko rack. His most likely mistake will be from his relative inexperience with geckos. The biggest mistake is building the racks with too tight of a gap which makes the boxes not slide properly and reduces ventilation. There are not escape issues with leopard geckos so this mistake should be avoided.
