shed problem

my new red blood shed the first time since i have had him, the shed was perfect except for the head just behind the eyes all the way to the nose stayed intact. I did everything i thought i was supposed to as far as humidity and soaking are concerned but he is really head shy making it virtually impossible to remove by hand. Should i be concerned and has anyone else had this problem?
